Sam Batzli - PhD
Information Processing Consultant
Space Science & Engineering Center
University of Wisconsin - Madison

I am a geospatial information scientist with a background in historical and cultural geography. At SSEC I develop techniques for access to land and atmospheric remote sensing information through GIS and internet mapping. My past work experience at the Smithsonian Institution with collections management and exhibit design helps inform my current work with data visualization, spatial databases, and interface design. I have a strong interest in the application of geospatial technologies in the public and private sectors, and I promote the integration of geospatial thinking with visualization in the higher education, governmental and commercial sectors.
